Reel repair?

Our club has a pair of the old pyramid leon Paul reels which don'r work ( one has been taken apart by someone who obviously didn't know what he was doing and has never been reassembled ).

Anyone know someone who might be able to fix the things? Or is it going to be cheaper to buy new ones?

I repair them . My cost is 25.00 per reel plus parts and s&H. The cost of new reels is 350.00 per reel It worth getting repair.

I been working on Leon Pauls forever. Send them to me I give you a esmite on cost of repair. I have a set of leon paul reels now for 22 years still working

The primary strong point of Leon Paul reels is that they're pretty easy to repair or replace parts on. You can order all the parts from Santelli, or direct from Leon Paul (depending on how many parts you need to order, going direct will probably be cheaper).

What you didn't state is precisely what is not working with them. If it's the springs, replacement springs drop in easily. If it's continuity, then you need to identify where the problem is so you know what to fix or replace.

What's broken---this is what I don't know. I suspect it's the spring in one of them ( it's been sitting in an unwound tangle in a box for several years now ). But is that the ONLY thing wrong? You got me.

Tim---Are you going to be at the LBI the first weekend of October, by any chance? If not maybe I can bring them to Orlando...

I will have two of the best Armorers in the world working for me at LBI. Have you thought about learning how to fix them yourself. On the day you are not fencing bring them by and ask me to show you how to test and fix them. There will be at least four other Armorers there, that a Leon Paul Reel would be childsplay. Bring them to LBI, just not the first thing in the morning, because of control. If you are fencing on Sunday, it would also be smart to bring your equipment to be checked. For Sabre, it will be everything, but the weapons.
