| Fencing Shoe for a sabre im deciding on a new fencing shoe. I'm considering the d'art II, absolute fencing elite II, and lp scimitar or blades. could you guys give me some suggestions on which one would be better?
i fence sabre, and i do a lot of footwork. occasionally, i do have knee pain.
thanks
I was pretty much decided on getting nike ballestras, but you cant find them anywhere anymore |

| Why would a sabre want to wear shoes? it doesn't even have feet to put them on.
And use the search function - it's there for a reason.

| Scimitars are sexier than blades and have clima-cool.
I'm buying them soon, probably; my D'art II's are on their last legs... |

| Anybody own or test out the AF Elite II shoes? i was considering them since they are about $60, and because i live relatively close to the factory so i could drive there and try them out. However, I want to know what people think before i take the 35 minute drive
ps.
the scimitars were near the top of my list. kind of pricey though. it might end up being my christmas present :\
if i choose not to get those, ill most likely choose AF elite depending on how they are since i havnt seen many reviews or get the d'art II. I dont realy like the look of the blades, and the inner protection area looks pretty small...i kinda am a foot roller

| I'm a sabre fencer and I destroy shoes. I once killed a pair of D'Arts in 2 weeks.
I've had a pair of LP scimitar/hi-tec's for over a year now and while the outer layer is worn through on the left foot, it's a small area and it hasn't worn through the inner layer yet. I consider that to be really, really durable. They take a bit of breaking in, the upper is very stiff and it hurt my big toe at the beginning. But they're comfortable now and I don't know any other shoe which could stand up to the kind of abuse I put them through.
I also have big, wide feet and they fit me well, as opposed to most Adidas shoes (like the Adistars) which were really narrow, even in size 13. If you have wide feet, give the LP's a try.
