Yes they will - As soon as they get any. They are following up with the KS people to see what the latest is.

Is there a 'drop-dead' date where if KS can't get it together, we go somewhere else? And where in KS are we talking about? Kansas City or somewhere like Overland Park or farther afield? Overland Park did not make my list of favorite NAC locations...

Hey, aren't you from the Kansas Division? What's with the they? From your perspective, it's we, not they.

Now, what information can you give us on the upcoming sectionals?

Everybody calm down now. I wanted to wait to get concrete info, but I'll share what we have currently.

The KS division has a facility at the University of Kansas reserved for May 2-3. We are trying to finalize plans and get it listed on askfred. As the details get worked out, we will keep everyone updated.

That doesn't sound fun at all. (From a ref's perspective.)

I don't suppose that one of "these things" that you know is when the info will get posted. How about it?

Come now! That would throw a monkey wrench into the cunning plan...

The longer they wait to announce, the fewer people from outside the area will be able to justify an already expensive trip. That means more slots for locals.

Why else the effort to "combine it with Divisionals qualifiers"?

Not to mention staff and refs need to know, for scheduling. I try to ref at sectionals as much as possible. If I can't get enough notice I won't be able to come.

I guess there is nothing saying you can't hold div/sec quals together -makes for a long tournament though. In the ops manual it seems to indicate that you should have divs prior (and that you give 3 weeks notice to fencers on the schedule):

    SUMMER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS KEY DATES:

Divisional qualifying competitions - At least three weeks before Sectional Championships

Sectional Championships At least six weeks before first day of National
    Championships

    Finally.

I am dreading the recon of airfares and the additional transportation costs from a major city with a big airport to a fairly distant small town...

A screen print below from AskFred

Despite the fact that sectionals is only 45 days away roughly, the registration below is more than a little light.
