Rep system needs tweaking This is my 46th fencing.net post, meaning I'm still too new to be able to grant reputation (according to the FAQ, you need 50 posts). Yet I've already maxed out my own reputation bar, and only some of it is from the épée thread. It seems wrong to me that it's this easy. I've only been fencing for a little over four months, so it's not like I'm some kind of genius-from-Mars who should naturally be able to shoot up through the ranks. If reputation is going to mean anything, it ought to be harder-earned than this. I think posting once per day for three years should be roughly the median effort required to max out. "Wait, so your name is Zorro? No wonder you took up fencing!" --My Spanish-speaking fencing coach, upon learning that my middle name is Fox.

I think the scale that the rep is counted on should be increased. Nearly any member with 10+ posts will have max. rep. ↕ Embrace both lines.

Having said that, if rep was actually worth anything, it maybe would be worth changing the scale, but as it is, why bother? The Stalwart Panda

So one useful comment. And the rep was from someone with < 50 posts, so not worth any reputation points.
The thread, on the other hand, was worth quite a few points.

Looking at mine...
most are either because of my advice/ comments (no one is more surprised than I),
secondly my humour,
and thirdly friends just dropping me some rep & a hello.
Admittedly the vast majority of my rep came from either the epee thread (back when we repped often, that has stopped/slowed down), friends, and my humour.
