    Golubitsky blades

What can anyone tell me about them? Whippy, firm? How does it compare to Vniti?

Have never used one myself, but the general opinion is that they are very stiff and very light.

I just spent a few minutes playing with a Golubitsky pro and a normal FIE with the same handles. The feel of the pro is poetical, so I see why LP describes it as a "continental feel". I can't compare it with a Vniti, nor can I analyze the technicalities of it, but I sensed a kind of keen streamlining of intention in the surrounding air volume while wielding it, in relation to the leverage and fingerplay sensations of the manipulators.

    Hope this helps.

As I recall, they're pretty stiff, and its intended for most of the bend to be in the foible for good flicking. but I don't remember for sure.

I found the Vniti foil heavy but durable. Their numerical flexibilty is marked on the blade. The Golubitsky I can throw my hand from just about anywhere and it lands where I want it.

I'm always aware where the point is with the G-Pro, it flicks but like others said only really at the foible, and its consistently bending from the same place. The forte is very strong, you know that when it parries it feels strong and firm, slight problem with that is though that it does seem to off-set the balance a bit, pushing it further down the blade away from the guard. I liked it and don't regret buying mine, but after using it for a few months I swapped back to my LP Budget Maraging and that felt just as nice.

Compared to a Vniti, well Vnitis seem to be better balanced, much more towards the guard, but I don't like the weight of a Vniti, the G-Pro feels quite a bit lighter and I can move it easier. Having said that though, my Budget feels lighter still.

Overall, very nice foil, I'm not smart enough to be able to appreciate maybe all the little details which makes them more popular but for what I want (a relatively light relatively flicky but controllable blade) I prefer it to a Vniti. But then again my weapon of choice is the Budget and I know a lot of people who can't stand them, so what do I know :P

The G-pros do not have a lot in common with the Vniti blades. The G-Pros are going to have a much more rigid feel, similar to a BF Blue but with slightly different balance. The G-pros are a bit more durable in my experience than the BF's, but not as long lived as the Vniti. However, if you like the BF's or a M range stiff Vniti I would suggest giving the G-pros a try. If you like the standard Vniti blades, try the LP Flickmaster. Similar flex and balance characteristics, but lighter and faster, although not as long lived.

    Thanks, all.

I'm still experimenting with blades, and have been using an StM FIE. I don't have much of a flick, but my point control is pretty good. I have Vnitis on my epees but am fairly new to foil.

I just went back to my G-Pro this weekend and remembered just how good it felt to be able to hit anywhere with it.
A friend of mine also uses an StM FIE and I gave it a wave the other day, it felt horrible compared to the G-Pro, the balance felt all wrong and it felt not so much stiff as rigid. That might just be becase that blade's old though and he's been using it for a while so its getting broken down

Actually StM's tend to loosen up towards the end of their life, not get stiffer.

Sorry should have clarified, I was blaming the poor feeling of the balance on its life, the blade's pretty warped too (it picked up a double S-bend during a match last Wednesday)
