    TiVo Hacks

Okay, any experienced TiVo hackers out there in the fencing community? I've an intriguing project I've been approached with an idea for that could benefit the community at large. I need the services of an experienced TiVo hacker to pull this off.

You know how to reach me...
That's it, I'm done with the discussion forums on F.net. It's had its uses, but the ideologues, ranters, and "experts" have drowned too many of the conversations. I'm changing my password to something random and never logging in again.

I know that several SF Bay Area fencers WORK for TiVo (not me).
I am not sure that they can appreciate your efforts to deprive them
    of their hard earned income.

Stealing is stealing no matter how cool it sounds.

    Stealing what?

oso97: Are you talking about hacking the hardware or developing software? Or both?

    .
Hacking in reference to Tivo does not mean stealing. Hacking in reference to Tivo means expanding the functionality, and is in fact encouraged by Tivo.

We're not talking about the subscription service here. We're talking about taking a legitimately purchased piece of hardware and convincing it to do something specific with a non-standard piece of video input.

Edit: I've already been contacted by a couple of the Tivo engineers . They're potentially interested. Thanks!

Yeah, Tivo actually encourages "hacking" ala the original MIT definition of the activity.
