I've been doing some artwork on the side. I'm a bit of an artwork Carny.
Here are two pics, the original photo, and then a version rendered in an art noveau inspired style.
If you have photos you want done in this style, I'm offering this for $10 per photograph. I sort of doubt I'll have any takers on this offer, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben
Is this really "art nouveau" in the strictest sense of the term?
This seems to me a simple conversion of a rastered image to a vector graphic. I remember at one point, the inclusion of vectored images in web layouts was immensely popular in the heyday of teenybopper blogsites.

Its more "inspired" than anything.
It does start off as a rastered image, and some of the work IS done in illustrator.
I wish there was a filter to do it though, because its all done manually.
So far, adobe has not made a "Make this **** look good" filter, or else I would use it.

there does exist one.
its just one of a professional set and still requires some touchup, doesn't do it perfectly. can't find the website for it right now

You're getting there. But you need to link your lines better -- there are a few noticeable parts where they shift or break from a smoother curve. Keep practicing!
Also, it's not Art Nouveau. Nouveau was the curvy organic decorative movement at the turn of the 20th Century. Think Belle Époque. The curvy organic vector stuff of the past few years is generally called "grunge," for obscure reasons.
Just because you have the right, that doesn't mean it is right.
