Array Always a Day Late I hope you lot did not party too much last night. I do remember some great Guy Fawkes parties when I lived in Manchester. Talk about a powder keg. Or keg of something.
Best wishes.

November 5 is, in many parts of the ex-British world, known as Guy Fawkes night. Sometimes bonfire night, some even cracker (fireworks) night.
It is in memory of Mr Fawkes and a group of other Catholics who attempted to blow up the British Parliament (and King James 1) in the Gunpowder plot in around 1602,3,4,5 or thereabouts.
Guy was hung, drawn and quartered. Perhaps even made to fence epee.
A guy is an effigy of him that was paraded around by kids who tried to collect money (penny for the guy). It was then thrown on the bonfire.
As a kid, we used to have bonfires and fireworks. But these all got banned on minor details like kids eyes being blown out and major grassfire burning through farm land. No fun now days. -

Array <<Perhaps even made to fence epee.>> Brilliant.
We used to have some great parties, you don't have to be Catholic now, just like to drink. (not me of course) It is best when it falls on a Saturday for obvious reasons. Just be careful and no one ends up in hospital.
having experienced Manchester in the 80's, the original Life on Mars set in the 70's was great to watch. Actually, Manchester now has undergone an amazing resurgence and is actually nice. I am trying to get my employer to set our UK office there instead of London because of cost. I did have trouble finding fencing clubs when I was there in March on business. Array Remember, remember the fifth of November.
Gunpowder, Treason and Plot.
I see no reason why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot. ↕ Embrace both lines.
