Biggest plus for LP is the x change bibs - especially in sabre and foil. With any other mask you are going to have all sorts of problems with worn out lame material. Sure, the mask lasts for ages, but this is not so great if you have to send it back to the manufacturer for re-bibing every 18 months.
Although the x change masks look very... different... from normal masks.
One other advantage of the LP visor mask is that it has a double-layered visor. The outer layer, which takes most of the wear, can be replaced when it gets too scratched up, while the inner layer (which is where most of the strength lies) will probably only have be replaced every two years (presumably you are aware that the visor only has a two-year shelf life).
EnduringDusk, forgive me for not being familiar with your situation, but why are you asking? It's one thing to buy a visor mask because you require one for FIE competition, it's quite another to buy one simply because you think that they look cool (or because they are the most expensive thing out there and therefore presumably the best). That would be the one instance where I might criticize a beginner for buying FIE gear.
