I'd probably cry. I put a lot of time into getting my weapons just how I like them. Plus that would also mean that I'd have to spend more money D:

Also, my Chinese blade has lasted about 8 weeks of practice now and hasn't broken yet ^_^

I broke about 5 or 6 blades last year....and i've broken my first one already this year...

it's more of a "****...not again" moment.

I hate reading these threads right after buying a new Vniti. Believe it or not, I have yet to break a blade, after 25 years of on-again, off-again fencing. I have seen it happen many times, thought.

Of course I frequently retire old blades to my club wen the get really beaten up.

Usually my gut reaction is "crap, my blade just broke." My last two blades broke at the tang, so it is really more of a response of "while is my blade so loose?"

If you use Vniti's normally, that's not a surprise. Those things are about as durable as the tanks they used to be made from.

I always hope my blades will break somewhere on the tang, when they do. I've repaired 3 blades by welding the tang back on, or a new one on, leaving the blade wrapped in a wet rag to keep from drawing the temper.

But no, I haven't broken a blade yet. My first blade was an STM that I stopped using because at the point the wire broke. I was just sick of it anyways, as it was stiff, but incredibly soft, so I needed to straighten it 5 times a bout.

I'll probably cry or something when I break this blade. I love it in a way that's illegal in most states.

My gut reaction after I break a blade, "The director hasn't called 'HALT!' yet; stab him again."

Usually my second reaction. The first is almost always along the lines of either, "Well, damn...." or else, esp. when I'm not expecting it, "...the hell just happened here?!"

ps. - if someone could clue me in on how to post an in-text picture, that would be great.
