Array As Allen mentioned, the information usually isn't available until February.
Specifically, Alex Beguinet, the Director of the program, has said that he expects to get a response from the USOC regarding room/gym availability in time to be able to prepare information for distribution at JO's. That's the typical schedule, with the information being posted to the website at around that time as well. The registration deadline follows a couple of months later.

I am afraid it is the same situation as the RYC website. Nobody is keeping it updated. See the following thread. RYC Domain Name Expired? -

"You didn't take advantage of his blade enough, so no."

I received an e-mail message 10 February from Elizabeth Beguinet stating that the date/bed grant had not been received from the Olympic Training Centre for the forthcoming USFA Coaches College 2009. She encouraged checking the USFA website periodically.

Array So at what point do I start bothering people about when the dates will be set and application packet out? The USFA website still mentions that information will be posted in feb. 2009.
*Yes, I know this post is probably bothering some people. "Sir, didn't I parry"
"You didn't take advantage of his blade enough, so no."

Array Elizabeth and Alex are traditionally on top of communicating dates. If they haven't said anything, it's because they don't have dates yet. (see the post above)

Array It would be good to have dates now...even the pirates are providing dates. -

Array Thanks guys.
Sigh, anything I touch related to fencing getting massively delayed... "Sir, didn't I parry"
"You didn't take advantage of his blade enough, so no."

Array Also, anyone have any idea how much it costs per session? I believe it included room and board, but I'm just looking for a rough number. "Sir, didn't I parry"

- $630 for two sessions
- $870 for three sessions

If I had to guess, with the current budget crisis....I don't think this is very high up on the priority list. My advice is to take advantage of the USFCA scheduled clinics. These supplement the USFA sponsored training like CC ...and this might be a good year to take advantage of that....there is one coming up in a few weeks April 3-5...

In 2007, the date announcement was also severely delayed, finally happening on April 1. But dates were announced, Coaches College did happen, and life went on. Yes, the delay impacted attendance plans for many potential attendees -- myself included -- but hey, stuff happens and not just in the world of fencing coach development. Personally, I find your 'it is very likely that the CC will not happen' to be rather presumptive and yes, a bit irksome. Put the black crepe away and turn the mirrors back around for a little while longer, hm? Similar Threads -
