New to forums, but not fencing

Hey, I figured this forum would be a great place to find some neat fencing things. So I joined. It's going well. I'm sure it'll be more interesting after I explore a bit.

I've been fencing epee for a few years (C08). Right now I'm flipping back and forth with epee and foil, although I only have a couple of weeks' worth of foil experience. I figured adding foil on the side would not be too much of a change than switching between epee and sabre.

I think I made a similar thread in the general discussion subforum, but I'm starting to debate whether or not that was the correct place to post the thread. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone did or is doing what I'm doing right now: transitioning between epee and foil.

Right now I'm completely relying on speed and reflexes to fence foil, I don't really have that much of a knowledge base for this weapon, other than take right-of-way and don't go off-target.

welcome to the forums im pretty new to (fencing and forums) foil is my weapon well only weapon ive had a chance to try and its fun it seems biggest part is under standing right of way and being able to use which is hard for some people dunno why


since you say you arent new to fencing you might like water cooler forum section better its for people sharing storys of fencing/everyday life.

don't know much about epee (only that it's REALLLYYYY boring to watch) but i might wanna pick up foil one day. im relatively new to fencing (3 months) but i think i'm starting to pick up the right of way thing alright. it can get a little bit confusing i spose.

i just fenced in a little mock epee tournament at my club. it was great, i beat this really braggy d ranked epeeist. heh. still going with sabre, though. it was odd being able to cross my feet when i'm goind forward, lol
