    Hi Friends,

I hope all is well with you despite our current economic conditions! Post Olympic life as a medalist continues to be a surprisingly exciting and tiring experience! The last eight days I have spent time in North Carolina, California, Baltimore and DC. I visited fencing clubs, visited a NASCAR racing team’s headquarters, trained some great folks from GE to fence with my teammate Jason Rogers and the final stop was the White House visit with the rest of the US Olympic Team. Being back with the whole Olympic team was really something special! I think now that we have dispersed to our respective parts of the country whenever there is a chance to come together we appreciate our Olympic experience and each other that much more. Now that everyone isn’t focused on competing there is a much more relaxed and social atmosphere. I have probably made more Olympic friends post-Olympics than I did while in Beijing!

The past few weeks have been busy, not just with appearances, but also with the logistics and set-up of all that we are doing. Since we are a small sport, we are on our own to share our Olympic dream and story with others. Almost all of what we have done post-Olympics has been generated by our own word of mouth networking. I have been completely blown away by the kindness of people to help us out. There have also just been a ton of other folks pitching in and helping out who I can’t thank enough. Similar to my fencing career, I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without the amazing support of others. I wake up each day really inspired to take the power that the Olympics can hold to help others. I have a fundraiser in the works for a charity and am also just starting to help inner-city schools start fencing programs which is apart of the 10,000 fencers project (www.tenthousandfencers.com) and we are slowly updating and getting this rolling. I will keep you posted on those projects, but for now, I hope you enjoy the pictures! Your Olympian, Tim (http://www.timmorehouse.com)
