Just in case your grip isn't deep enough...

Like it says....sometimes the recess for teh pommel on a pistol grip isn't deep enough....sometimes it's because you have an inside hex nut and there was juuuuuuuuust enough tang sticking out for the old grip, but the new grip is longer and no tang sticks out....or you snapped the tang (happens to me when the nut binds up), etc.

Thanks to a machinist friend at SwordPlay, I now have a simple jig for my drill press that finally allows me to bore that recess deeper in a reliable fashion...so if you HAVE run across this issue, drop me a line...I can help now!.

Actually, when I snap a tang, I weld a new one on.

Of course, the SIMPLE answer is DON"T USE INSIDE HEX NUTS!!!!!! (And don't use SCREWDRIVER-slot hex nuts is only SLIGHTLY more obvious.

Sometimes it doesn't matter...I snapped the tang of a Vniti epee last week because the OUTSIDE nut I was putting on bound up, and as I worked it off, the tang torqued and snapped....
