| welcome panel at top OK. What do you think? Keep everything there or lose the avatar image? Lose any of the other text?

| At first it seemed a little "busy" . I'm getting used to it now and think it's pretty good as is. I like it.

| I like the welcome. It makes me feel special ooo I also like the 'senior member' under the name hehe it makes me feel special to.
I like the new look. It's refreshing. It'll take me a little while to get my barings again, but I'm not complaining.
I have a question for ya Craig. Or anyone who knows the answer forthat matter.
In the topics it seems like the number of posts to a page is smaller. In the last design you could only have so many pages per topic. Is that number the same?
Great work guys!

| I'll be splitting off topics at around 100 posts or so. Not # of pages. (I can always make more posts fit per page, just thought this setting would be good for most people.) |

| I actually find the smaller number of posts per page annoying. Any way I can up it?

| Click on the "User CP" (user control panel) button, click on "Edit Options" and look for:
Default Posts per Thread:
Number of posts that are shown on one page of a thread.
You can set it to what you like. |

| First of all, thanks and ovations to Craig and ShyHeidi for all the work.
One question/issue, though: I'd love to be able to jump to the last unread message in any given thread, rather than having to look at the whole discussion each time. It's something I missed on the old board, and unless I'm missing something, I'm not seeing it here either. Am I missing something?
Editing: I think I just spotted it -- the down arrow, right? But that leads to the "boy are there a lot of little unexplained icons" issue....

| Well I saw the redesign and I'll admit at first I panicked: Oh no do we have to re-register and are all the old posts gone?
But then I saw just how much work you guys must have done!
Good job!

| I really like it. My favorite boards are all vb so I'm fine with it.
My only suggestion would be getting rid of the links and graphic at the left to do away with their effect of offsetting everything else on the page. |

| It's wierd! Sometimes I get the "go to first unread post" link and sometimes I don't....
Also, is it just me or are pages loading more slowly than erstwhile? |

| Well, the table is horizontally stretchy, but it doesn't shrink small enough, I don't think. It'd be nice if it would shrink a bit more so us monitor-impaired people wouldn't have to scroll. Or heck, maybe it would be better without the nav on the left, though I'd always been taught to keep the nav consistent throughout a site. ... but the forum is practically a separate site anyway, since people usually go to the site for one or the other...
I will work on the buttons... I don't really have any ideas, yet, but they need to be changed...
I think the contrast between the posts is a little soft... I don't know if a darker gray would be a good idea, but something that shows up as more visibly different from the white posts would be nice. Maybe even the yellow of the old forum would work, I dunno. Well that's my suggestion, I'm going to send this before my internet dies because it seems to like doing that repeatedly lately. See ya. |

| Craig, what's the deal with the *&#!%#@!! "character limit" on posts?
I spent several hours writing out a response to epeemike only to be told AFTER the fact that I had to "cut" it. When I tried to split it between two posts, I lost the whole blasted thing! All that work, poof! Gone. I could bite penny nails in half at this moment!
There's no warning about this that I could find anywhere.
Any other little "surprises" lurking about for unwary users? Just so I know beforehand?
If you want to force us to discuss complex issues in "sound bites", or not to discuss things at length at all, that's your prerogative---but how about a little heads up BEFORE we step into the minefield? |

| char. limit on posts Finding that out also.
Unfortunately, there are some things that only show up in production!
Keep letting me know the issues and we'll figure out fixes.

| I'd like to second (or third?) EMFUser about that links box on the left offsetting everything, making the viewer scroll to the right. Couldn't you put that horizontally at the bottom of the page, or the top?
I just noticed that ShyHeidi did the redesign. Congrats, kiddo, on a fine job! Now who was it that said they were sick of shy....? |

| Hey Craig,
It seems as though every time I post, I lose all the marks to the new posts. Is there anything that can be done about that?
