Dear RDG (aka Sam the Man)

Say, what happened to our FencerGrrl? I couldn't even find her thread much less her!
Anyway, there I was reading this story my Cath passed to me ,something about a "Narrow Dog to Carcassonne" when I came across this passage which somehow reminded me of you and I thought FencerGrrrrl would have fun with it as well:

A man in black who looked like Frank Sinatra leaned over with the menu. The aperitif maison, he explained, came from his home area in the Auvergne. The berries from which it had been distilled were from bushes planted in Roman times. They were gathered by farmers who lived on the edge of starvation and they were ripened between the breasts of young girls. We ordered one each and Monica said it was not bad and I had a beer to forget the taste."

You are a unrepentent codger. I was just thinking the same about FencerGrl. She must have gone to parts very wild to not attended her thread.

What are we to do without her wisdom? I hate to think that either you or I would rely on our own best instincts.

    Sam
