Saftey isnt an issue, they know fencing is a competley safe sport and they are fine with us fencing now if we have a "coach" or advisor at our practices. The problem we have now is that we arent allowed to store our gear in the dorms. -

Array We've just started up a fencing club at our school. At first one of our fencers was told she couldn't keep her weapons in her room, so our faculty advisor got in contact with the chief of campus police, explained the whole situation to him, and brought him a few weapons to inspect. The chief then sent out an email letting people know about what the club was doing, that he had inspected the weapons and saw that because of their design they didn't fit the definitions of "weapons" under the school rules and advised everyone that they were therefore permissible on campus. Guess we got lucky with a combination of faculty support and campus police who aren't morons. Similar Threads -
