Wow! Thats what I wanted to hear. The idea of driving over an hour each way to get to a fencing lesson seemed kind of crazy to me, but if so many other people are doing it then I guess I can justify it too! . Thanks for the replies.

Currently 1 hour 30 min., each way, by train and car.
An improvement; used to be 2 hours drive each way.
    Min. twice a week.

Just a little over an hour from home. (Sort of) luckily I can't actually fence for another few months

Right now, thanks to the new route I decided to give a second try, it takes me about 45 minutes or so to get there, and then back again. Before, it took me usually about 1 hr 45 minutes to get there, same to get back, mostly thanks to traffic rather than distance.

I usually ride my bike, and it's about 15-30 minutes, depending on how tired I am already. Sometimes I get a ride, and that takes about 15 minutes.

45 min to 1 hour 4x per week, but only lessons twice a week. That gives me two days to practice what I was shown.

I personally drive about 15 miles that can take me 20 minutes or hours depending on traffic. If I leave my house 5 minutes late I hit rush hour traffic through one of the bottle necks in Jacksonville and that can slow me down considerably.

We do have members of our club that travel 45-60 minutes each way to get to us.

Normally it's only about a 5 or 6 mile drive to the club in town, however the other night I did drive about 1.5 hours to WCU to take them my old jackets (and ended up staying for a few hours of fun bouting!).

I do not have the farthest commute, but I have had lessons that I drove 1hr 30min to get to, and then several coaches I had to drive 30 minutes to 1 hour to work with.

On the other hand I used to take lessons at the club darius works at now (and my apartment is closer to the door ). It was less than a minute to walk there slowly, and about 15 seconds to sprint there (cause I am slow). It would physically take me more time to get in my car, start it, and park it, than it would take to run there.

Luckily for me, my primary club is located right along my commuting route for work. Unluckily, my office is about 38 miles away from my home, and the club is probably about at the halfway point of that. So, 19 miles. (My secondary club is about 40 miles away; I generally go 1x weekly.)

My club is about four miles from my house, unfortunately I'm almost always coming from work, which is about 35 miles away.

My daughter and I drive 4.5 hrs one way to Boca fm Tampa, FL every Sat. for lessons. Lately we have gotten smart and are driving down on Friday for lessons on Fri. & Sat. then driving back but sometimes it is a down and back run on the same day.

I am about 4 hours away from the closest area for fencing. Which I have not started fencing yet due to this. When I can afford to do it, I will probably start making the drive down and just grit me teeth for that 8+ hour drive.

About 15 minutes away for me. Previously, I had about half hour drives to one school or another, so I'm happy with the new place.
