    Physical Chess Customer Service

I need to get this off my chest and see how many other people have had this type of experience with Physical Chess.

I ordered a few wired blades from them off ebay and put the shipping address that I wanted them to ship it to on my PayPal payment. They decided that it would be a better idea to ship it to an apartment complex that I no longer live at. I can see how they could have been confused with the two addresses so I don't fault them for that but....

When I called them today to try and get the shipping address changed they said that they could do nothing for me since the package has already been shipped. The thing that really bothered me about it was that they were RUDE! I think that this must have been the rudest, least helpful person I have ever talked to. They made it seem like they did not care about my purchase at all and told me to call UPS.

Since my package is already in transit I have to wait for it to be delivered to the WRONG address before they can change it to the correct one. UGH

Next time i'll just order from a West coast company.

I'm sorry they were rude, that was uncalled for. Isn't UPS the one that claims that they change the routing on packages anytime - those stupid white-board ads actually did their job. With a tracking number, that PC should provide to you, this seems like nothing but a phone call.

Yeah thats exactly what I thought! I figured that it switches trucks so many times from NJ to WA that they would have time to slap a new sticker on the thing. Its not like its going to a different state. It's funny how the package goes to seattle which is on the west side of the state and then BACK to Spokane which is on the east side. I dunno....

Did you notice they were slow? I bought some stuff from them 10 days ago and they haven't even shipped yet.

Yeah I got a dry epee from them a few months back and it seemed to take forever.

I hope that the people who buy from Physical Chess, Allstar USA, and other crappy companies are doing so before they ever spoke to an experienced fencer, coach or checked the boards at fnet. If so, then you may be excused. If, however, you have ever read this board or spoken to an experienced fencer about who is a good vendor, and STILL bought from one of these companies....well

Let's try to keep posts to being informative and helpful posts of good content and not advertisements. You're already advertising via your sig line, we don't need a stream of "buy from me" posts from every vendor out there.

True, but in his defense, Purple is one of the only west coast US vendors out there, and the OP did specifically say west coast.

Unfortunately, I started reading this site after deciding to get a club started. I've bought a little from most of the vendors, and some are better than others as far as response. I have to say that so far fencing.net has been pretty good, and AFS is really fast.

I haven't given purple a try, but he has some great advice on his site. With you permission, I'd like to link my site to yours purple.

For the sake of adding something from the other side:

I ordered my first jacket from physical chess. It turned out I ordered the wrong size, so I exchanged it with them. They were very pleasant to deal with, and it was resolved quite quickly.

I would say for very cheap stuff, I would go back to them.
    "Sir, didn't I parry"
"You didn't take advantage of his blade enough, so no."

(I guess i should have romanced it a bit more..."

I did buy some electric foils from them (Physical Chess) on ebay. They have 2 and 4 weapons specials at a price that makes them attractive for club use. The handles were an awful square plastic affair an I am in the process of replacing them all. For starter gear they see OK if a bit slow, one you figure out you get what you pay for.
