Using correct grammar shows that you have respect for the people you're talking to by making it easier to read. The spell check on Word would correct your grammar, so you apparently arn't letting it take care of that.

One of the most important things you learn in the martial arts is to respect others who have things to teach you, esp., curmudgeons, and to ignore them at your peril.

For example, all those little boxes by his login name, mean that we on f.net have given him a great number of "reps" because of this contributions. Secondly that little rating thing B-07, means he can fence.

In short, he has our respect, and he can kick your @.

If you are lucky he might give you pointers on how to handle a saber. If you are not quite as lucky he might let you pay him to teach you saber. If you are really unlucky he will bruise you badly the first time you fence, and then watch you squirm while he racks up a 15-0 victory.

I expect he will do the first rather than the latter.

Vets (a.k.a curmudgeons) stick together. Those that are rated have learned to compensate for the speed and agility stolen by time by developing skill and treachery on the strip.

If you think I exaggerate, fence him and learn.

You're taking it personally. I'm not attacking you, just a bad habit you're showing us.

If your fencing coach noticed something wrong with your fencing technique and corrected it, would you get all defensive and tell him to "shove off", that you're going to continue to do everything your own way and the rest of the world can go hang? I suspect not...
