Fencing in Tucson, AZ

Hello all, I've been fencing for a few years and just moved to Tucson. There's only one club in the area, and the owner managed to insult me enough times in one phone call that I've decided that's not the club for me. Are there other fencing opportunities in Tucson? What are the best options for a recreational (i.e., not willing to attend a 4 day regime of footwork, etc. but more like a day or two of open fencing/week) epee fencer? I'd be willing to go outside Tucson, but only as a last resort.

Sorry for the trouble you're having. You can find a list of clubs in Arizona from their division web site.

Thanks for the link, but do you have any info about specific clubs? I'd like to get any input I can -- which clubs are good for epee, etc.

I recommend http://www.azfencing.com/ for epee and sabre. I hope they are not the ones who insulted you. The coaches are well qualified.

Question Fencing in tucson

Don't always judge a book by its cover. Tucson seems to get a lot of people that seem to know it all about fencing and want to tell our coach what to do before they even step foot on the strip. Also Tucson does not have many fencers so we really take pride it what and who we have. I'm not sorry you didn't come down because you gave up even before you had a chance to fence any of us.
