Men's Sabre Individual

Jason Rogers is fencing right now against a fencer from Senegal and is losing 7-8!

Rogers wins 15-10!

What was the appeal at 10-9?

In the text commentary Daria said it was because the Senegalese fencer crossed over but the ref didnt annul his touch.

I'm having trouble getting more than one feed on nbcolympics.com. Anyone else have this problem? Or are they only giving the one?

Jason starts the bout off strong, reeling off 4 straight touches to go up 4-0. The Senegalese fencer figures out the Jason is reacting to him and slows down a bit. "I was a bit nervous at first" said Jason of the opening period. "At the very beginning we were both really jumpy - he slowed down and I was still jumpy, but once I slowed down my tactical plan was better than his."

Jason turned around a 6-8 deficit at the break to win the bout running away at 15-10.

Jason faces Keeth Smart in the round of 32.

It seems like there are four live feeds. One for each strip.

Anyone else see GE's sabre fencing/BBQ ad?

Okawa-Keita (if I remember their names correctly) was a great bout.

NBC seems to be starting to put ads in the minute break, which is a good idea in terms of televising fencing, I think. It means revenue for them, and the more they profit the more likely they are to put it on television where we get to watch it.

O'Connell of GBR vs Kovalev of RUS was a good bout too. Went to 14-14 before the Russian edged O'Connell out.

Keeth is wearing blue Nikes, but Jason is wearing Assym's. He must have stockpiled a ton to have a pair still good, especially considering how much he fences...
