| Jo sat bolt upright. She was no longer chilled, but shook with the haunting of her dream. Her head felt as if a horse had stepped on it. She sat in the darkness counting slowly as she breathed in and out, calming herself.
When finally she stilled herself she listened to the quiet. It was too quiet. Where was everyone? She pulled back the coverlet and slipped her feet over the side of the bed. Her toes touched the cold stone floor and sent a new chill through her. Slowly she stood only to quickly sit back down. The room spun as she tried once again to focus on the task at hand.
She tried once more to stand, felt the now familiar vertigo but willed herself to move forward. She found her wrap and pulled it around her then tiptoed into her slippers and padded toward the door.
She paused at the door for a moment and turned back. It would be unwise to go unarmed. She fished in her bureau and drew out the small ladies dagger that Naekos had given her so long ago. Holding it close to her breast she left the sanctuary of her room and went to find her friends.

| and....pressing the blob that her second husband left her shortly before he was vaporized in the dungeon over in the other folder, the blob propelled her foward and into another dimension. The dimension of a ballroom with ballroom gowns, dancing slippers and good hairdoes. She glanced around the room and noticed Arcon slouching on a chair looking bored and a bit out of it "hey-la, I thought this was a dance, what is everybody running around with daggers for, did somebody put something in the punch?" A tall agular Zelda lurched forward in a mechanical way and found Arcon, she peered through the mist of the 4th dimesion and, adjusting her halter top, grabbed his hand for a fast cha cha slide, "dance arcon?" He put his unfishied soda pop on the table and got up, "wait zelda, i just just, just need to adjust my outflow robe, wait, here it goes" with a new burst of engery, Arcon and Zelda, swept into the middle of the dance floor, the heretofore sleeping band threw open the shutters and dusted off their fiddles, and began sining in an energized fashion. Arcon and Zelda completely refreshed, sparkled through a cha-cha and got ready to move into a high energy hop. The rest of the crowd brushed the sleep that was gathering in their eyes and hit the floor, their heels and cassenettes flashing in the 5th dimesion "up up and away" the vocalist crooned, "another soma asked Zelda?" "No thanks, I eschew soma Zel, lets get outta here and blast a few miles in the bay". |

yes, she replied, and sat on a lawn chair slicing cucumber and tofu for a small party of three, better living through chemistry. he neighbor uncorked a vintage 1999, minnesota red and pronounced it "tart". they dug in. Minutes later mango decided she had had enough and motioned her driver in the pumpkin to take her home. 4 little mice were instantly transformed into horses and she sped off into the dusk. Arcon had left pages ago, and the rest of the crowd lost their grips - it was time to write the reviews of the Second Grande Masked Ball |

| There was to be a grand finale at the ball with announcements, a fencing demo, and a knighting ceremony. This I stated in a previous post.(the grand finale)
thank you for calling an end to the activitys, Mango.
I was unaware you were in charge.

| Sarcasm, my judicious king...I think the ball was about due to end anyway. Not that I agree with the former usurper's undermining of your authority, but in this case I believe it was for the better. As for knighting...I know at least one of the candidates was female. I recommend that we not "knight" them. Not being sexist, but the title of "Sir" would sound rather strange on a lady. Perhaps make them a "Lady Knight", or something like that. I don't know; just something more feminine sounding for them.
Note to radical feminists out there: I mean you no disrespect. "Feminine" is, in fact, considered a good thing for those of the female persuasion.

| I would hope that in fastasy land that one has the option to be "the captain of their own thread".
There is only one true authority here:
THE WEBMASTER
Who am I but a mere King in a fastasy
kingdom trying to keep order.

Anyway - just throwing some light-heartedness into the mix.
Have fun. |

| Craig,
"You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you.
If I was to go 'round saying I was emperor because some moistened bink had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd lock me away."
