The first annual Arconian(fantasy writing contest)

Yes, I believe we WILL be here in another year.

Anyway, I'd like to announce at this time that there will be a writing contest here in Fantasy Land.

No cost to enter. Just post your official entry. Ill need to have a list of people interested so that i can determine judges.
Moon, with all due respect i need you as one of those judges. You are the professional.

Yes, there will be a prize.
A reasonably priced weapon of your choice.
foil, epee , or sabre.

All entries must be in before July 19 and a winner will be picked hopefully by July 30.

Please post if you are interested and state if you want to submit .

The Subject will be Arconian related.
examples:
Moons Rescue
Arconia at War
The King Kidnapped
The Island of Mango-lia
Life on the Planet Perfecto
etc.etc.

I will not be a judge.

[Fencing Angel]

As Sir Angelo rode through the dark woods Searching for the lost scribe, Lady Moonitic, he was thinking that he should have brought a dog with. just to make things a little easier.. but the only dog that he knew was naekos' dog.. and he only understood elven. so that didn't really do any good....

he was also wondering why no one had told him about lady moon dissapearing. it had happened two days ago. the only informataion on even where to start looking is to the North west. he was deep in thought when a shadow apeared through the trees.. he pushed his horse a little faster courious about what it was.. then he saw it again.. just a small little shadow about 300 feet in front of him on the trail. he rode faster still and for what seemed like hours the shadow eluded him.. he was just about to give up when he caught up with the shadowish figure.

"Can you help me?? i am looking for someone.."

"depends.. i have been travleing this road for the better part of a week and have seen no one.."

"well i am not sure that she came this way.. but see if this discription sounds like anyone that you have seen lately..."

Angelo told the stranger what lady moon looked like... the stranger looked thoughtfull.. and said

"well i don't think that matches anyone that i have seen..."

"well thanks all the same... careful travels to you..."

just as Angelo was mounting up he heard the drawing of steel. he truned around just in time to see the stranger's pommel of their sword come down on his head... then he fell to the ground like a rock...

After the stranger had made sure that he was totaly out she removed her hood... it was The lady Moon...

"i am so sorry that i had to do that Angel. i couldn't see your face... i had no choice it was for my good... it can not be known where i am going to... once again i am truly sorry my friend..."

With that she took off into the woods with all the grace and agility of a cat.. jumping from boulder to boulder and stump to stump.

Little did she know that Sir Angelo had heard every word that she had said... and began to follow her...


Sir Angelo ran throught the woods after the shadowy figure of moonitic.. he ran and ran, all the while seeing nothing. after half an hour of running he was almost too tired to walk. he stopped to rest and fell asleep against a tree.

he awoke about an hour later and heard the unmistakeible sound of Steel being drawn from a sheath. he jumped up and truned about to see where the sound had come from. directily behind where he was laying just scant seconds ago was a warrior wareing Muu armor. it looked like a short man and helded the short sword like one too... the warrior took two steps forward before angel drew both his dirks that he carried. he was a expert at knife fighting.

The Muu warrior attacked with the strenght and speed of a lion. Angel never remembered the Muu's useing short swords or being this good at sword play. the one thing that Angel was thankful for is the fact that he had extra training in the strike force. they fought for the better part of an hour. neither one showing any sign of weekness... but plenty of fituge. then the warrior raised his sword to above his head, and that is when Angel struck a winning blow. he lashed out to the Breast plate of the armor with his foot.. and knocked the stranger off their feet. when he did so he heard a soft squeek as the person began to fall.

There was something about the squeek that brought up a memory. and he quickly realized who it was... also because the face guard had fallen off...

"Lady Moonitic!?!?!?! what are you doing in Muu armor?!?!?"

"is that the way You where taught to greet a lady.. first knock then off their feet then ask questions??"
lady moon said with a smile.

He helpped her to her feet and then knelt before her...

"please accept the humble apology of this foolish knight.. i had no idea that it was you.."

"Accpeted... Rise Knight and Prince of Muu.
It is i who should kneel before you.."

"what do you mean....How did you know... your the.....????"
Angel was clearly in shock.. not knowing how she found out...why she was telling him, and that she was the princess that he was looking for...

"yes i am the princess that you are seeking... as to how i know.. The king told willow and willow told me the night before i left arconia. but now the really hard question... do we go back to arconia or do we jounry on to Muu and then have a forced marrige??"

"well i am not really in favor of going back home... and i have to train Jo and Foil girl once we get back to arconia... and i really dislike politics... so lets return to Arconia."

With that decided they started walking back to the road to arconia.

Hence forth be it known that the rules of the contest are as follows:

1. The story must be about Arconia.
2. Spelling DOES count.
3. Please limit entries to 1,500 words (yes Arcon, I raised it a little).

Also, as a second place prize, a "Citizen of Arconia" t-shirt is offered by yours truly.

I was hopeing that Willow would be a judge , but i didnt know if she was going to enter the contest or not. It should go without saying the judges are not allowed to enter.

Id like Zelda to be a judge also if she has no plans to enter.

Steve, Kieran would make an excellent pet. He's housebroken (except for that little "problem" of his) & a fun little guy. In fact, I have a stuffed version on my computer right now!

Right now my book isn't available ANYwhere but thru me. I'm looking for a new publisher now, since we broke off the contract with the old one. Although, I may have a deal going with a small press right now, just so that I can have a few more than 5 books on hand for the people that want them. I've been asking folks to "hold off" lately. I hate doing that!
