| Too bad, I was hoping there would be a way there could be an event with her and Becca in the same event and possibly fence on in a pool and the other in a DE.
Oh well.

Oh well. | I did have an experience somewhat like that about 5 years ago at a NAC in a Veterans Sabre qualifier (all vets over 40 at the time).
I fenced Don Anthony in a pool. At the time he was just getting active again fencing in Veteran events. I actually made a head parry riposte for a one lighter and got one other touch. He went on to win and regain his A.
Steve Mormando in the DE's, all business, I was glad to get one touch.

| Sadly, Locky is gone IIRC. That was a cool kid. Also, there was never doubt that Becca would be above being a CC...or that her mother would have a cow if she ever found out her daughter was squandering money/time living on a patch of muddy grass in a crappy tent for like 7 months of the school year.

I would ship her a tent because we are a camping family and have a lot of them.
I think that sounds like fun myself.
I am so happy Becca will finally have a coach. It will be wonderful for her.

The Momster | It will be really nice to see Becca flourish under a nationally known coach instead of languishing in obscurity with some nobody.

| Sweet. That's good to hear. I just seemed to remember him being a captain and thinking he was gone this season. I'll admit I didn't really go and do the cursory fact-checking (Facebook).
P.S. Mo- the tent thing was a rib at all the kids that pay thousands of dollars to sleep in the mud at Dook (shunning their perfectly good dorm rooms). The correct response would have been something relating to how the wine and cheese crowd at Carolina doesn't even wait outside and just logs in to a computer for their tickets. To which I might ask when Dook was going to embrace the 21st century and you might retort something about "free" iPods to all incoming freshmen...err, first years. Get it? It's all part of the witty Carolina/Dook reparte. . Luckily you have at least 4 yrs and possibly some grad school to get better at this.

| Maybe she'll redshirt to get some extra eligibility in while she gets up to speed with collegiate fencing? |

| No no, he was just answering a popular riddle: "what do you get from a Dook education?"
$120,000 poorer, robbed of your sense of humor, and overloaded enough with NJ culture to become convinced that Texas is the end all be all of the Union....
BonusPoints for the first to catch on to the subtle irony there.

| Not that I have a dog in this fight, but this is hilarious: (and contains some potentially offensive language, be ye warned) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYOgC2Qbqh4
