So, we all know how good Valentina has been over the years: 61 World Cup / Grand Prix / World Championships / Olympics gold medals, Including 4 of the last 5 WF Olympic gold medals (2004 Indiv, 2000 Indiv & Team, 1996 Team) and a silver in the 5th event (1996 Indiv). She has simply dominated.

Do you think it will continue in the WF Individual in Beijing? Or will someone else win? Normally I take the field vs. one person, but this is a bet that I'd be willing to make on Vezzali's side.

How do you feel?

Does anyone know what the best FIE season record ever for a fencer is?

Let's define 'best' as in terms of winning percentage with a minimum of 50 bouts fenced at A grades, Grand Prix, Zonal Championships, World Championships, Olympic Games.

I'm guessing if anyone has this information, it would be you.

I'd be somewhat hesistant to place a bet on her winning.

But I would NEVER bet against the possibility of it. Ever.

I thought I hearda few years back that pozdniakov had a season where he lost only one bout, to covaliu. I dunno if that's correct, or if it was whether it covered the entire season or not. Where could we find such info?

The FIE only started tracking all competitors results as of last season.

Vezzali does it.

As of right now, she has fenced in 6 Olympic Fencing events (4 individual, 2 team) and has 5 golds, and one silver.

That is a person we wouldn't mind seeing cloned, that and the woman epeeist from France years ago.... what's her name the one I call FossilFoil? What happened to her in WE? What an incredible lifetime achievement. I don't think anyone can believe it, it's too amazing.
