| If you recall from previous olympics CBC has upped the amount of fencing coverage an incredible amount of time.
I can see however, I'm not going to be sleeping much.

| I tried to access videos currently being shown at this site but got the error message: "Sorry, this video is not available in your area."
Are there any other ways to view Olympics fencing online in the U.S.? |

| It is working just fine. Provided that:
1) You do not mind watching a lot of empty piste.
2) Have bouts interrupted by volleyball coverage.
3) No slo-mo.
It is better than watching qualifying rounds of swimming... |

| Well it was frustrating to watch, but still I think back to Athens where the only feed available was from an Italian site.
I'm exceptionally happy I got to watch Olya's bout and the finals this morning.
So much fencing so little time!
Anyone in Canada have any luck getting the NBC Feeds? I was thinking using a US proxy but so little time.
Tim

After a rocky start the webcast seems to have improved. I've had no luck with NBC (I guess proxy is the only way to go). Still, I'm pretty happy with CBC's coverage as it now stands.
(I gather that Olga ran into some significant technical problems during that bout.)

| Azza Besbes. It was hard to witness her defeat after that intense bout with Becca.
Olga apparently experienced technical problems with the computer and lost two points as a result of a conflict between the machine's data and ref's call. The details have been covered in the National Post: http://www.nationalpost.com/sports/b...ff&category=FE

| CBC coverage was ok. i think they missed opportunities to cover other bouts; seems as if they only had footage on one piste at a time. we didn't even get to see the tikhomirov vs jeannet bout (yes i know i'm being bad for saying this but fabrice is one of my favourites, and i'm happy with his results...good showing for tikhomirov though ). |

| You can see highlights of his bout on the "Day 2 Clips" (it's #6). There's also a weird sabre montage from day 1.

| For some weird reason I like Bas from the Netherlands and saw 2 of his bouts last night. He is very intense and seldom lets his opponent get more than 1 or 2 points ahead of him.
I met him when I was the liaison for elite athletes at one of the world cups during the final 4 bouts. Initially, I ended up dealing with him because he was seen as a "difficult diva".
He just had different needs and was curt. Instead of hanging out with the other fencers he wanted a place to meditate. What was seen as rude, was just a very focused and intense fencer. Besides... I liked that he was nice to the kids.

| Well... he is a "nice tall drink of cold water on a hot summer day". Not that I would notice.
