How are the fencers doing Capt.?

Paging Capt. Slo- Mo........
I don't know if you are in-the-know but how are our fencers doing? I can only assume they are having a great time but are they still psyched? Are they nervous? Are they still keeping in shape? Now that the tableau came out for the Women's Sabre, are the ladies getting ready?

The inquiring minds want to know.........

Nice profile on Becca this morning in USA Today. Good luck to all of our fencers.

The plan for coaching Seth and Kelley on the strip by phone sounds interesting.

That will look very awkward on TV, if they showed it...

Tracy wrote that she wasn't sure about Cody and Seth's plan. Maybe Cody could impersonate someone who does have credentials and use their pass for the day. Don't know which one of the six is 6' 3" though.

Ladies: please! One must sleep sometime!

I had dinner with Becca and Mariel and Sada last night at the Olympic Village. They all seem relaxed and confident. There were a substantial number of pranks being pulled, so I think they're in the zone. The cadre seems a bit frazzled dealing with the authorities and the hordes of Olympians, but the fencers look good.

The food is good and plentiful at the Village, and open 24 hours, no less. In contrast to the steamy outside, the dining hall is refrigerated to about -24 degrees. By the time I got to the table, I had to chip the ice rime off my pizza before I could eat it. I was told today that the temp in the fencing hall is expected to be 64 degrees, so bring extra clothes. Of course to get there, I have to walk the equivalent of LA to San Fran in heat and humidity equivalent to the surface of Venus, but what the heck, I'll bring a jacket.
