Fencers quoted/shown in 2 NYT pieces

In the "nice to see fencers mentioned" category of the news, two pre-game articles in the NYT have fencers shown or quoted. I guess that is one of the side benefits of having to be one of the first to compete.

    The first piece
For American Athletes, a Home Base for Training That’s a Little Like Home
is about how the USOC set up a high-performance center, and who should be shown in the lead-in photo having a good time, but our own Sada Jacobsen & Becca Ward playing some type of music video game. Fun picture of both of them. (They are with two guys who I don't recognize, but then I really only know sabreist, so if they are some of our other fencers, I apologize in advance.)

    The second short piece
    Beijing Air Thick on Monday
is about the bad smog and features lead in comments from Erinn Smart (ok, so I also know some NY area fencers) commenting on how she doesn't want to be the first to wear the special face masks provide to the team. "But I didn’t want people to see me wearing it and say, ‘Why is she wearing that? She’s a fencer. She competes indoors!’”. The printed version of the piece has a nice pic of Erinn and Emily Cross warming up, but the on-line version has, for some silly reason, a picture of the bird's nest stadium hidden in smog.

Erinn Smart is also quoted (albeit with an incorrectly spelled name) in the Washington Post. Similar article about the air quality in Beijing.

    That would be Rock Band.

Btw, Cody Mattern (obviously) is a fencer as well. David Durante, for anybody who's curious, is a gymnast.

I suppose that he's just there to help Seth practice since Cody isn't part of the Olympic fencing team.

Cody is also the World Alternate, IIRC. Meaning he fences if anyone else doesn't.

So, did Becca drum out Sada, or did Sada ax her way to gold? Or did they work as a band to overcome the song?

I can see WS vs WF vs MS etc as a very entertaining Rock Band competition.

Clearly, they were working as a team. I want to know what their band name was...

Being console-poor, I've only seen Rock Band actually played once. Isn't there some sort of head to head mode like Guitar Hero?

I didn't get a chance to try all the modes before it decided to not work anymore on my PS2, but I'm pretty sure the head to head mode is only for the same instruments.(guitar vs. guitar, so on).
