You'd be surprised at the amount of money the Bay Area can pay if we want to do such a thing.

But then you'd have to deal with his character, which IMO isn't well suited to the Bay Area...
    • Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)

How so? You should know how "adaptive" some fencers (and parents of fencers) are with regards to coaches.

When the bay area is willing to lay down millions of dollars for a fencing coach, I'll eat my stinky fencing sock.

Congrats, this was fun, thanks. Unfortunately, I found that picking those whom you want to win doesn't really correlate to who will actually win.

i learned to look at the bracket before making picks to determine if your picks are even possible

And I think YOU'D be surprised to know how much he makes.

Also, apparently not worth it... China's medal count went from 3 in 2004 to 2 in 2008.

Greg M told me the rumor was 1.5million EUROS per gold medal. Nothing for silver or bronze, though.

Which is why we might be able to get'em at a firesale.

In reality, we would have no need for such a person here. We need more developmental personnel. They provide more bangs for the bux.

From what Messr. Bauer's acquaintance blew in my ear - salary is in low 6 figures and $850,000 for a gold medal,
on the other hand each Ukranian girl gets 100,000 euros, a car, an apartment in Kiev and a 10,000 euros increase per annum in the stipend 'till the next Olympics, such a reward was a prime impetus for the substitution.
