| Rufus...
He'd be very clever, albeit a bit overbearing.

| 'Raven' is a cool name.
It works for both genders as well.

| Great job, gang...too funny!
I can't, however, use Mary. That's my name, as well as the names of BOTH grandmothers, & a couple cousins. It's an overused name in our family.
And, since some people aren't educated in baby names, Rufus means "red". It's English. Anyone who has seen Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure would remember Rufus as being a "cool dude", not a toothless hick.
Yes, gang...I have a baby naming book. I use it to create characters for my stories, & usually base them on what their names mean.

| Hey!
Here's an idea:
Give the child a name made up entirely of numbers. It's SO imaginitive, intelligent and original.
'Nuff said.

| If I have another son, I was going to name
him 'William'. (Will for short, not Bill).
Not a 'fantasy' name, but a good solid name.
I haven't considered a daughter's name.
'Mary' is out, right? I suppose 'Maria' falls into the same catagory? How about
'Chrysanthemum'?

| Ok, here's MY list of names that are OUT:
JACOB (I already have a John...that would be mean to have John, Jacob...jingleheimerschmidt)
MARY-that might work for a middle name, but NOT a first name!
ALEXANDER-Alexandra is the main character for one of my books. I already have a child named Johnathon, the name of the love interest.
JOSHUA-as much as I love my "little brother", there is no way I'm going to name my child after him!
MORRIS-this was my father's name. It's incredibly lame.
