They reason people post things like the mess in the Jersey division is so they know that SOMEONE KNOWS and perhaps gives a darn about it.
It is shining a spot light on the crap that goes on.
It is necessary. Considering how many fencers come from Jersey and the area it is important to US Fencing.
Having people running a large division who are morally bankrupt is something we all should be concerned about.
If you don't want to read it DON'T!!!!
A comment from the peanut gallery on Fnet is not necessary.
If you cannot be constructive about an issue then may be it is time to shut the hell up.

The rest of the country simply DOESN'T CARE ANY MORE about the insanity that denizens of the State of New Jersey insist upon continuing in.
Hey Big Bear, if it offends you then why continue to read it? Personally, I find it serves to remind me that the squabbles out here aren't that bad. In a sort of "the Sopranos are from N.J. aren't they" sort of way.
I feel so disillusioned. Reading Caputo's letter posted above I thought, hmm sounds like a good guy who gets it and is above the fray - maybe he can turn things around. Civility. Then I look into his slate and see all the names of the rabid opposition - Janto, Mustilli, Lomuscio. This isn't change he's bringing, just the other side of the same old bickering coin. You'd think in a division this size you could find a slate of members whose hands aren't dirtied by mudslinging and ugly threats.
I predict no end to the Jersey troubles no matter which slate wins.

Thanks for adding another one to the list.
"Life is like a wheel, where everyone steals, but when we rise, it's like Strawberry Fields."
I move that New Jersey be administered by a Dictatorship of Someone from Far Away. We'll appoint some efficient person from Nevada or Wisconsin* to make your decisions and keep local troubles out of it.
* Locations chosen at random.
Maybe we can send them the candidates from the Nevada division that do not prevail in this weekend's election
Strange...I was walking through the local supermarket here in Maine, and I saw that the Miller guy was stocking...LEINENKUGEL! I commented on it to my companion..."Wow...Leinenkugel...and not in Wisconsin." "Good beer?" asked my companion. "No...it su&ks," I explained. For some reason, I've never liked that flavor. But it always WAS a distinctly WI beer (like Point).
Hey...can you still get Huber in those returnable bottle cases?
You can find Leinenkugel in most NJ liquor stores. I'm a fan of the Sunset Wheat.
Hell yeah, I love that stuff! Hahaha, it was odd though, the first time I tried it, i swear to god it tasted like Fruity Pebbles! (Coincidentally, my fav cereal.) It was really odd at first, and I didn't try it again for a while afterwards, but I like it pretty good now. I still think it does taste a little bit like Fruity Pebbles though.

I haven't seen it anywhere, but I can't say no.
I don't really think Leinenkugels is a Wisconsin beer anymore than Miller is at this point. (Although it's true that they do have local limited release microbrews) I wouldn't come to Wisconsin to have a Leinies' on tap. New Glarus is the Wisconsin brewery. Spotted Cow is the New Glarus beer.

Miller bought Leinies specifically to get that type of beer (honey weiss, berry weiss, summer shandy, sunset wheat, and apple spice). They're the same as always, but the more traditional beers have suffered in quality, and aren't marketed very aggressively (in Wisconsin anyway, I don't know about nationwide).

I have heard it described as Fruity Pebbles before. I don't like it, but I don't like sweeter beers.
Oh, you mean other people think the New Jersey division blows too? I went to a tournament there within the last few months. The "refs", such as they were, were all members of the host club and all went to the same high school as their clubmates who were fencing in the tournament that day.
I had a similar problem recently, probably the same club, trying to stick to USFA or a Club I trust the coaches from now on...
You know, I keep considering a switch to Metro. Maybe this will be the year...
We'll need a note from your mother first...
You could probably switch to just about any division you want. Last year the USFA "requested" that I allow a fencer into our division who I had previously denied due to a lack of evidence that they met any of the criteria for doing so (didn't live here, go to school here, or fence for a club here). They claimed that, when they happened to be in town, they took lessons from a coach from a club in the division. It was pretty clear that the USFA didn't really care about the rules, and just didn't want to hear from the parent anymore.
Not surprisingly, this same fencer didn't pre-register for or show up at qualifiers, and then sent in an injury petition claiming the injury occurred the day before the qualifiers at an NCAA event and that their coach "approved" them skipping the qualifiers. When asked for a doctors note, they sent... and get this... A NOTE FROM THEIR MOTHER WHO IS A DOCTOR!!! Furthermore, past results showed that they probably wouldn't have qualified anyways.
I sent an email to the USFA asking that they not consider the petition, which they did not respond to. Of course, the petition was approved.
