    Proliferation of polls

There seems to be a plague of Olympicpolls on the main discussion board. Perhaps too few cougars in Scandinavia.

Can these be put into a special Olympics section so that they are contained? That way important issues like being pickedon by refs for turning my head can get due prominence.

Perhaps we can get Neinteen to stalk Peter for a while. I'm sure she wouldn't mind adding one more person to her internet stalking list. Perhaps she might distract him from taking over from Web bot for creating new threads.

Peter's polls are all a bunch of speculation on things that cannot happen for the most part. He is posting crap.
He is annoying as all get out right now!!

The comment & Suggestions forum is not a place to talk about Nein. Please move along ma'am.

I agree that this is the sort of thing that PG spends far too much of his time speculating about.

I believe forums to be a relatively simple economy. If people are not interested then these polls will die and fall off page 1 in a day or 2.

I imagine, as we get closer to the Olympics, it may become necessary to create a temporary subsection. The flip-side is that I don't recall us having to do so in the past.

    You called?

Yes, several of the poll answer alternatives are highly unlikely.

But any of them being "things that cannot happen" - back that up with a possible scenario. I am not holding my breath.

Guess what, when I post poll questions I take great care in covering every possible outcome with one and only one poll alternative. In those cases where the 10-alternative limit precludes that, I have made the polls multiple-choice. I dare you to find any of the polls in which their is a possible outcome which is not covered by at least one of the poll alternatives. I have seen far too many badly formed polls (both on f.net and elsewhere), and I will not let myself post stuff which other people can rightfully claim is logically flawed. Quality assurance courtesy of Inq, if you will.

BTW, I am quite surprised that you find time reading about the Olympics, rather than planning for it. But that is your own prioritization to do.

BTW2: I find the idea of a temporary subsection for Olympic issues to be a good one.

    Have a nice time!
