| Olympic Prediction #3 - best New World fencer (other than the obvious guesses!)? Hi!
If one disregards the USA WS fencers, and the Canadian WE fencers, which weapon will be fenced by the best individually placed fencer hailing from a country in the Americas?
If you predict that two or more fencers from different weapon/gender combos (except those two teams) will be dead tied for placement, vote for those weapon/gender combos.
Better yet, predict the winner(s) in this competition.
Have a nice time!

| I believe that Seth has a great shot in ME. He has proven skills and experience and a very consistent game, but more important I don't think anyone has his mental toughness - and the Olympics puts a premium on that.
I don't know the other weapons as well, but Keith Smart would be an obvious choice.

| Morehouse finishes higher than Smart.
Kelsey will make top-8, but not medal.
Meinhardt makes top-16.
Luan Jujie makes top-8 in WF.
Cross will medal (as opposed to my prediction in #1, so I'm hedging... if there's enough of these threads, I'm sure I'll cover every possible outcome so I'll be correct some way or another).
Podz will not make top-4. Nemscik will finish 4th.

Remember, the Olympics does not require a lot of actual fencing... so don't count out the old guys that are proven winners like Poz and Kolobkov.

R- | AS far as I knew Kolobkov was not going, the 3 Russians were Avdeev, Tihomirov and Kachurin - representing Russia, Canada and Kyrgyzstan - respectively.

I tried to check but did not know about him for certain. Too bad, would have made things interesting.

TIS514 had voted for all 6 possibilties, so that was more of hedging rather than good prediction. To note: Of the 6 DFL placements in the individual events, there were fencers from the Americas in 2, while fencers from Africa in the other 4.
