    Hi, I'm new here

hi, im 16 years old and am extremely interested in swordplay and fencing, although I can not participate due to a long lasting limp which forces me to walk with a cane. Anyway, I love swords from the early to mid modern era (small sword, cutlass, sabre) and hope to increase my knowledge of swordplay and fencing.

Well, with your condition, I can't really encourage you to fence foil (unless you try wheelchair fencing), but welcome any ways! We mostly have information on modern Olympic fencing here, but information about the classically used weapons too.

    Hello, welcome to the forum.
    Have you try wheelchair fencing?

You don't have to be in a wheelchair to participate in wheelchair fencing.

People who are not normally wheelchair bound will sometimes do wheelchair fencing.... Kidlazy was trying to be helpful. He was assuming you might find the footwork too challenging. That may be true... or not.

The only way to find out if the sport is right is to give it a try. Talk to a coach at a local club and let him/her assess you.
