| Andrei Samorodov and Wendell Kubik will be hosting a Épée coaches Education and Training Seminar in San Antonio on the weekend on September 5-7, 2008.
The location will be the Alamo Fencing Academy. Registration and Info will be available in the near future on AskFred.
Please put this on your calendar. USFCA Moniteur practical exams will be given on Sunday morning. Remember you must take and pass the online USFCA Moniteur exam before you can take the practical.
You must complete the online USFCA exam before you arrive for the seminar so please start working on it now. See www.usfca.org.
We are looking for Prevot and Masters candidates who are willing to participate in the instruction and give presentations to the Moniteur candidates.
There will be training and practice to prepare the Prevot and Master candidates to take their exams at Alamo Fencing Academy in May 2009.
Please contact me by PM or post in this thread with questions.

| Seeing as how the non-member cost is $35 more than the member cost, and the cost for an associate USFCA membership is also $35, will attendees be granted associate membership in the USFCA?
Just wondering.

| Yes. If they fill out an application at the clinic. The best thing to do is to join the USFCA online on the website...USFCA.org...and then register as a member on askfred...when we get the clinic posted. It was not posted yesterday when I checked.

| USFCA membership year starts Sep 1 so if you are an existing member you need to pay your dues online for 2008-09...before this clinic.

| If you don't want to join the USFCA right now, you can wait and try us out at the clinic in San Antonio. As some people have pointed out in this forum, actions speak louder than words. If you come to the clinic, and like what you see, you can join the USFCA at the clinic. You can sign up online at the clinic. We will have computers available for your use. You can also take the online written exam at the clinic. You must score a 75 to pass. However, you will not be able to take both the written and the practical at the clinic. There just won't be enough time. You can take the written online while otheres are taking the practicals on Sunday morning. We can schedule your practical for the next clinic.

| USFCA Online Membership and Exam Registration Sorry for so many posts...
Online membership dues and USFCA exam registration fees are paid through PayPal on the usfca.org website.
You can use your PayPal account or you can pay by credit card, Mastercard, Visa, or Amex.
Please pay online if possible so that we can avoid cash or checks at the clinic. We will still take cash or a check if this is your preference.
Clinic fee is payable by Cash or Check to Alamo Fencing Academy and is separate from the USFCA membership and exam registration fees.

Remember the emphasis is on Moniteur - Beginning Instructor training with some advanced lessons in Epee on Saturday afternoon. Moniteur exams on Sunday morning.

| 20 Coaches attend training clinic in San Antonio We had a great time down here in San Antonio this weekend.
20 Coaches attended and one got certified as Moniteur in Foil and Epee. The certificate will be in the mail tomorrow.
More would have passed...but you need to pass the online written exam before you can take the practical and we only had one who took the test in advance of the clinic.
If you need to take the online written exam while the online registration process is offline on the new website...please send me a PM.
Another clinic is planned for May 2009 but we are thinking of adding a foil clinic during the winter Holidays or in early Spring. Let me know if you are interested.
Here is a list of attendees.
