I am PisteOff, jester and soothsayer to the Arconian Court.
My costume consists of a top hat, coat and tails, slacks and shiny shoes, all the color mauve. My prediction for the morning: overhangs (hangovers). I am accompanied by the most excellent Lady De'Lorian, fastest female charioteer in all of Arconia.
*deep bow* Now if you'll excuse us, we have to go get some drinky-drinks. *hiccup*

| The heavy oak doors of the marbled hall swung open, revealing the depth of the night, to which the merry ballgoers had been oblivious. With the wind of the open doors, the warm glow of the bright chandeliers seemed to be sucked out into the void, as one's last drowning breath.
A hush came over the room. All eyes turned to the figure in the doorway.
"I seek the Water of Life"
Said she.

| Her face was masked with desperation, covered in streaks of dirt, her hair unkept. She was obviously not dressed for the occaision. A brown woolen cloak covered her from head to ankle, her toes exposed through old leather boots. She was alone.

| The revelers were entranced.
The sound of the girl's gasping breaths carried over the silent crowd. Her shoulders heaving, she stared wildly at the splendid faces surrounding her. No one moved. No one spoke.
The girl closed her eyes and teetered precariously, then landed with a thud on the floor.

| From behind her fan (wait, dressed as the Slayer I don't have a fan)...
Aw, heck with it...I'll say it out loud. "Why can't a good looking GUY show up once in a while?"

| Generally the hard way. Heck even the king has to have etiquette lessons every time we have a state ball. He never remembers anything.... so unfortunately my dear child it will be I the Queen who helps you to your feet and asks what the matter is, mainly due to the fact most of our men cant even dress themselves, let alone help a lady!

| okay, i'll help her:
Knight Mango dashed into the scene and offered her hand "you poor girl, what happened, here get up and..." she helped the girl up and motioned her to a seat. "tell me what happened, I'm a knight, knighted by king Arcon and I will take your complaint seriously, after writing it up in my book, and so forth. Then I'll call my partner, and we'll do a thorough investigation, you have my word". http://www.fencing.net/forum/smile.gif |

| The mysterious girl accepted the assistance as graciously as possible for an unconcious girl. Propped in a plush velvet chair, her eyes fluttered open and focused on the faces of Mango and Zelda.
"I'm sorry." She mumbled groggily, looking all around her. "I'm a bit ... travel weary."

| It was decided that the dirty girl would be given a room in the palace, as well as a long, hot bath and plenty of soap. She was clearly too tired for the Arconians to get any sense out of her.
They planned to question her in the morning.

| well moon.. i have to disagree.. we have come to the age where young ladys look at it the fact that when we are trying to pratcice chivalry we think that they can do nothing for themselfs.. so we have stopped trying.. it was not us who killed it... but they who think this way.. Quote:

| Now Angel, don't forget that since this IS an older thread, I have to speak from PRIOR knowledge...
I will say that the men have proven much more willing to lend an arm in LATER threads...

| Chivalry is not dead! Chivalry is not dead!
What seems to be dead or dying are people who believe in and practice it. I for one practice this almost lost virtue. So again I say "Chivalry is not dead". Long live Chivalry, and the pursuit of worthy ladies.
.........THE ARCON has spoken, disagree and die by the sword. |
