Where's the M&Ms? FWIW, I've reffed him in Vet50ME. (Against edew, even). -

M'eh. Now that I think about it I can think of at least 2 vet fencers I wouldn't mind having available in calendar form*. Throw in a few beers and that number goes up to 3, maybe 4. Promise that Edew will be in the signature leather pants and I'd take that as a novelty. Heck, throw in the 2 or 3 other vets that I'm bound to have missed b/c I don't spend enough time scouting the venue for vet talent....crap, just remembered Don Anthony - I hope to get to a point where I'm as fast and debonaire as that guy by the time I hit 25 .
No need to thank but I think I just took care of almost 9 months w/ mass multi-age group appeal for you guys with no problems. Just give me my copy for free or throw in the special "full page spread" edition feat. my top 2 and we'll call it even. I now dangle to the left....my tassle. Get your minds out of the gutter.

Dude, I'm representing the under-25 demographic...sadly I must admit that most of the time if it's not plainly obvious (while they're in full uniform) I'm probably not checking out my VET fencers. The next time the opportunity arises I will step outside of my prejudicial "box" and ogle all age groups of female fencers as equally as I conscionably can. I'm not predicting much of a jump in my ogling though I now dangle to the left....my tassle. Get your minds out of the gutter.

As for me:
A bird in the hand is worth twelve in a calendar,
and what's good for the goose..must be good for the gander. I'm not runnin'.
It's a little different now.

Array If people are truly serious about doing the calendar, we need to think through the various poses & scene in good time before doing the shoot. I can actually do this at nationals since I'll be there fencing and we'll be running the FencingPhotos.com booth there for the duration (not that this shoot would take place at the booth, of course ... too much distraction for the youth events).
We would need to select the calendar subjects, as well. We can provide lights, makeup, photography, some props, some limited wardrobe, and probably a place to do it (we can get a "closed set" room somewhere in the venue where we can set up). I would think we'd need to do it after hours.
BUT, this won't work if we try and wing it when we get there. We have to plan it ahead of time, and I need people to email me directly if they're willing to be models (serge@fencingphotos.com). If you're willing to be a model, you will need to sign a model release.
Beyond that, we have to have a way of marketing the calendar and paying for any expenses involved (although there shouldn't be too many). If we want to print and pay for a calendar outright, that's quite expensive (unless we find a sponsor). Alternatively, we can do a print-on-demand calendar using the CafePress capability we have with FencingPhotos.com and people can order it directly.
We'll donate the proceeds to vet fencing -- we need to figure out to what entity and how that works, as well; not sure if it's the USFA.

Array I nominate Don Anthony, Wang Yung, Jane Eyre, Heidi Runyan, Dick Richards, DD Nicolau, and Larry Pinkus for that frisson of je ne sais quoi "Arm yourself, Watson, there is an evil hand afoot ahead." -- Dennis Pierce, 2010 Bulwer-Lytton contest, detective fiction category runner-up. -

Array I do not wish to detract from the "swimsuit" aspect. But to get a snapshot in time, maybe a back cover of the Vets Worlds Team. If they are not all together at SN, perhaps a picture taken in Limoges.
How about a duo of Ed Korfanty and David Jacobson? That would bring some echoes. Whoopee! My avatar is back. -

I think a better phrasing might be "a bird on my arm" as the British might say. -
