Super Shoebie
Array Well, it was a pretty typical final, but it had some good moments. I don't think anyone could've asked for a more interesting tournament, but it is not surprising that the last game was pretty traditional. Before the game I was wondering how things would turn out if Germany put on a 20 minute blitz straight out of the gate to amp up the Spanish Choke-Meter (tm), but I think this team really was young enough that the past was meaningless.
I think I am going to look at some Turkish swag to add to my collection, just to remind myself to never give up. -

The Spanish team in comparison is chock full of some of the best players from the best teams in the premier league and la liga. Fabregas, Torres etc. etc. The scoreline flattered the Germans, spain should have had at least 3 goals. So Barca etc being interested in Lahm, Metzelder playing in Madrid, Arsenal's interest in Podolski, etc, those are flukes? Marketing ploys? Misreporting?
Germany proved against Portugal that they definitely have the potential. Originally Posted by downunder I don't understand how you can be a 'fan' of a country...Unless you moved to the US from Germany I guess. Spot on. Although I probably should have said I am a Germany supporter. -

Proved they have the potential to put three past a team that defended woefully, you watched the match? Two of the goals were the result of schoolboy defending, the portuguese defence couldn't deal with a set piece at all. The game highlighted Portugal's weakness, not Germany's strength.
