Brooklyn Fencing Vs. New Amsterdam Fencing Camps Hi, I'm a 15 year old sabre fencer with about a years noncompetative experiance in my school club. I'd like to attend a weeklong fencing day camp in the NYC area and I was strongly considering these two. Any advice on which I should go with would be much appreciated. -
Well I'm doing NAFA's 3 class trial and they've got a nice space...but I'm a little disappointed in their sabre. Not sure about the younger classes but they seem like more of a Foil/Epee place. -
yeah i've heard that about Brooklyn Fencing as well
but more sabre oriented clubs like manhattan fencing are a bit out of my budget -
The Sheridan Fencing Academy will be hosting a camp in the end of August. It should be in our new, permanent facility on E 100th St.
In the meantime, we will be running classes and lessons through July on the UWS.
We have very strong sabre--significantly stronger than BkFC or NAFA--including the Junior Olympic silver medalist.
Feel free to PM me for details or email me at info@sheridanfencing.com

Array In my experience, neither BKFC nor NAFA is very good for sabre, but I fence foil, so I could be wrong...as a curiosity, what school do you go to that has a sabre team? -
Eleanor Roosevelt HS
our coach is Jonathan Lung -
Saber Club in NYC You should check out Manhattan Fencing Center. It is the main saber club in NYC where all of the best saber fencers train. The only camp left at this point in the summer is in Kutshers Sports Academy and it will have the National Coaches for Saber and Foil in addition to the best saber fencers. www.manhattanfencing.com Similar Threads -
