    Arconia's School of Fencing

Ok , business goes on as usual even in times
of war.(arconia needs one).....If you could establish a school
of fencing ....how would you structure it?
    The coaching,drills,competitions,incentives
etc. Would you sponsor it through private interprize, a few deep pockets or some sort of Non-profit system.

before i did anything i would solicit gifts from near death ex-fencers - hire a fund raiser for that.
then i would buy a house and knock down all the walls. i'd live in the back or upstairs and rip up the tiles on the first floor to put in wooden floors and then i'd advertise in the newspaper for students.
    i'd hire 2 instructors.
    classes are tues/thurs/saturday
each student is scheduled for an individual lesson (amid all the chaos of clashing swords) 2x's per month, the rest is classic:
all students warm up together, they run, stretch, jump etc, then they all do footwork together, then they separate into groups of 5 or 6 and work with a lead instructor on their group lesson, the lead instructors argue across the room about who is making too much noise for their students, the head coach tells them all to be quiet and work on their parries, the room comes to a halt, they are all punished and forced to do squat thrusts. then they start on their group lessons again, after about 20 -30 minutes of this, the lead instructor says "okay, go practice what i just showed you" the student pair up, and start practicing, while the lead instructor walks around them correcting the posture, the students make faces and complain they are not fencing bouts and winning, the head coach throws a sharp look around the salle and orders the loud mouth to the strip where he teaches them a lesson in second parry riposte, they all watch. the loud mouth goes home in disgrace and threatens to sue the teacher. parents complain, the reels that were ordered get wet and they won't work, the instructors feel bad. there is more. but that's just the beginning.

I don't much care for tight clothes. However, I think that part of training should be distance running, as the endurance musculature it builds helps with fencing AMAZINGLY. My point is, running shorts are designed to inhibit one's stride as little as possible - which means that they are short enough that teenage girls would be hesitant to wear them. And when it's very hot out, it is much more comfortable to run without a shirt. Could I get away without the tight clothing?

Swordsman, we were discussing the fencing breeches. What you wear during warmup and cool down is your own business.

What about female fencers? I'm assuming we have some attractive females here, even if they're not scantily clad...
