need comments on tunis world cup I need comments on the last men's saber world cup (tunis march 2008). How was it it there? the tournament? the organization? etc. -

Array It was very well done. The Tunisian fencing federation hired an outside PR agency to take care of the athletes, so everything was prompt and neatly organized. Transportation was readily available and check-in/-out was speedy. Everyone was very friendly. I almost felt guilty because this PR company seemed to think that fencing was higher-profile than it actually is. They even tried to get live coverage of the tournament with the local network. The enthusiastic attitude was very refreshing, though.
The hotel was pretty nice, with an outdoor pool. Breakfast and dinner was included and I thought it was pretty good, although everyone has differing opinions on food.
The city itself looks very nice. Unfortunately, the hotel was far from the downtown area, and I didn't want to spend the ~USD20 for taxi to get a look. Tunis (or maybe the less-commercial surrounding areas) definitely seems like a good vacation spot, though. Similar Threads -
