All the paint on the mugs I've bought have that warning. Latex paint would just peel, that's their only other option I guess. Take a few shots then eat the paint, that's they way to start a party!

Lead paint would be on the outside of the mug as decoration. The inside of the mug (and the rest of the mug) would be glazed.

Could you not figure this out for yourself??? Or have you been licking lead paint off of coffee mugs your whole life?

Well then that's why there's warnings. If you're concerned about lead, get ones that are only glazed. Personally I don't go licking painted logos, but to each it's own.
