    Howdy!

I joined a little bit ago and thought it was about time for an introduction (especially since I lurk so often). So I'm a newbie sabre fencer, absolutely love it. I just started in September on my college team, live in NYC, I like cats and that's about all I can think of for an intro.

    Sabre Fencers... ew.

Cat lovers? Didn't know they had souls.

Anyway, hope you change weapon, in the mean time, hang out, post, and have fun. If that's what you sabre fencers are into.

Catseye, Swathmore... you wouldn't be a Dave Duncan fan would you? http://www.daveduncan.com/books.html

Welcome to the forum. You might want to consider joining the Sabre social group.

Edit: I did a quick check, the place was Starkmoor. They had cat's eyes in their blades. The "King's Blades" is a great series by the way. The author was a fencer... so lots of foil, epee and sabre fencing in his books.

Go to "User CP", if you scroll down you'll see "Social Groups".
    This is a recent change.

You should. Best to read the Gilded Chain first, the Lord of the Fire Lands, then Sky of Sword. By then, you'll be addicted and need to check out Paragon Lost, Impossible Odds and Jaguar Knights.

Awh, this thread makes me sad. My cat is very sick; we probably won't have her much longer. We found out she has a tumor in her chest... She's had a good life, though. She's almost nineteen.

Anyway, welcome to fnet. I'm an animal lover as well. Dogs, cats, horses, pigs, sheep, cows, goats, turtles, fish, birds, lizards, toads... you name it. I like 'em all.

Thanks! Happy to be here. It's really cool to see a parent supporting her kid on strip and online

Swarthmore College? Never see any at tournaments (then again I haven't been to a tournament in a long time).

Thanks. We're a small school outside PA and our fencing club just got started this year really. We haven't been to many USfA tournaments and unless you're a girl, you wouldn't be fencing us at NIWFA's but we're around...keep an eye out for red socks. If there's a sabre girl wearing, there's a 1/3 chance its me

(I know where Swarthmore is... )

I don't know much about the latest collegate rules, so please check out them first, but I am sure our club welcomes you and your teammates to come pratice with us (for sabre, talk to Peach). Specially during the time when you are STILL on campus but school&facilities have closed.

(sorry, alotta people I've met don't and think we're a small all-girls' college in upstate New York :P)

Oh wow that sounds awesome! Since we're a club sport, I'm pretty sure we're not restricted by those seasonal practice rules. What club is this? And are you active over the summer?
