Array pfft... Studying. I never study for finals, only for EOC's. Why can't we just have one test for all of this?
TAKS test is the yearly state mandated test that is from regular classes, not Pre-AP, leaves me with 5 1/2 hours to sleep.
EOC's arn't so bad if you paid attention all year, the short answers are just annoying because they want to know everything, with their grammar rules (Refer to nothing as 'it', ect.) Plus, they're done in class, so I don't sleep for a few hours.
Finals are just easy. Most of the teachers know that we had 2 other major tests recently and make easy finals. Atleast 1/7 of mine are open-note tests, and if I passed the TAKS test, then I don't have one for Geometry.
If I do need to study though, I usually cram the night before and the day of the test. Get to school early, go to breakfast if your school is like mine and forces you to stay outside until the bell rings. ↕ Embrace both lines.

Array The easiest way to be prepared for finals is, sadly, to stay on top of things during the semester. -

Array Rule of thumb for University:
Study 1 day (8-10 hours) for each credit hour.
That should get you through a final, if you're doing decently in the course.
Otherwise:
Math/Science courses: do problems, so you understand the underlying processes.
Courses involving readings/Memorization: Lots of caffeine, and a solid drunk after the exam. The preceding post brought to you by Rabid Monk (TM). Rabid Monk: informative, irreverent, interesting, random and downright odd posts, done with pride since 1983. -

Array Write out all your notes again. That works for me. I find that by writing it out (by hand) cause it's a relatively slow process (compared to typing) it really cements it in my mind.
Organising your thoughts is really important too. By which I mean, flowcharts, brainstorms, lists, that kind of thing.
And at uni, read!!! Read the texts set by your teachers. If you read around the topic, not just lecture notes, then you should know what you're doing
