Array shoulder injury - a prominent acromion bump Anyone here ever suffer an acromioclavicular (AC) joint separation injury from fencing? -

Array I suffered one from cycling and it consequently affected my fencing... Still feels a bit off and slightly weak, planning on trying to do a lot of strength training and conditioning of the shoulder area this summer to see if it helps things along. -
A few years ago I was having a lot of pain in my acromio-clavicular joints. First the right, then the left. I didn't have an event that caused it, but it was certainly exacerbated by fencing. I was told I had arthritis in my A/C joint. What the orthopedist did was to surgically excise the A/C joint. It's called a Distal Clavicular Resection or DCR. It worked great. I've had zero pain since then. As an added bonus, I can now escape from my straight jacket whenever I want. -
