There can be no doubt that the USFA completely mishandled this issue.
If the contract is legit then there is no reason that arrangements were not made to pay this man. Two years is plenty of time to resolve cash-flow issues.
If there was a legitimate complaint regarding the contract and the USFA feels they shouldn't pay then they blew it by not defending their position, and allowing a default judgement.
Either way the USFA, or rather the people in charge, blew it.
