| Southwest Veterans Circuit Logo JEC asked me to set up a post on our local forum so folks could vote for one or the other of possible logos for the Southwest Section Veterans' Circuit Cup logo.
That post, with both logos, is here: SW Veterans Logo
Since I do not have the emails for everyone who might qualify to vote, I am adding this post here.
Those with no interest may ignore...
Thank you |

| It might make foilists and sabreurs annoyed, but looks good to me! |

| Critique I don't have a dog in this fight but I'm a designer and can give you a few suggestions.
1. The first logo is more modern, simple and versatile. I would suggest adding more contrast (perhaps a dark blue background and a red Texas with a white border around it) to make the white fencer stand out better. Make the text sans-serif (like Arial or Helvetica) and darker. Nice perspective.
2. The second logo is more classic, but a little cluttered. I'd at least remove the large rose hiding the third weapon (the roses around the banner are enough). Moving the banner with text down to where it overlaps the top of the shield might improve the composition. Also, it might be costly to screen print six colors if you are thinking about printing shirts. Very classy.
I know you are taking a straight vote but maybe my suggestions will help! |

Dunno why | Perhaps, because somebody in Amherst was a spammer in the past.

| Actually, I have heard this from time to time over the last 5 months from many folks. However, I currently have no one, no IP address banned (there are other counter-measures in place, besides, my moderators are pretty fast on those matters, as well).
For the last half-year, that has meant the system you are on is banning you from my site. Often this bans people while at school or work but never at home. |

| Since I'm from Rocky Mountain Section, I won't vote, but your first choice appears to have the wrong borders for the Southwest Section. Your northwest boundaries appear to match the real western boundary of Texas. But the panhandle of Texas all the way down to the Pecos River is in the Plains Texas Division in the ROCKY MOUNTAIN SECTION. Just thought you might want to know.

| There is a common misconception ...
SOUTHWEST VETERAN CIRCUIT CUP = A circuit cup of the SOUTHWEST SECTION. It is not at the present time. We have drawn Veteran fencers from the SOUTHWEST REGION of the USA.

| Based on past experiences with Southwest Section, I assumed this would be just like the youth awards given in the past by SWS where only SWS fencers were eligible. You probably need to publicize who is eligible since people are going to assume that a Southwest Veterans Circuit will correspond geographicly with the Southwest Section.

| All Veteran fencers who participate in SVCC events are eligible for end or the circuit medals.

| Looks like Circuit is spelled incorrectly (Circut) in the second graphic.
I am not in your section but am a vet and prefer the 1st one. |
