He was an incredible fencer and a fine gentleman. He will be missed.

It was in the Boston Globe also. It said he came to the US in the late 70's, was he active in fencing after he came to the US?

I think he had a club in Connecticut for a while.

I saw him fence at the Martini & Rossi that used to be held at the NYAC. I think that was early 1970s. He was fast and precise in his movements - a pleasure to watch, and a super fencer.

I met him briefly after fencing: the Polish squad would sell their equipment at fire sale prices to get US currency. I bought complete wired foils and (very soft) blades for next to nothing.
