Fencing - top sport in Men's NCAA APR

It does not take a genius to fence in Div. I NCAA, but Men's fencing is at the top of the multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) data.

Fencing probably has a higher proportion of academically high standards institutes as participants than other sports. IE, what % of NCAA fencing is Ivy League or similar institutions, compared to other sports. Since fencers generally have to meet the regular admissions requirements, this probably helps the average a lot.

I bet you it was all those fencers from Texas who bring that average up so high.

    That must be it.

We just got tired of the PdF worship.*

    * Which oddly enough has disappeared. Then again, "From Texas" is on a downswing at the moment. However, "Yelling" is having a resurgence.

Imagine if PdF relocated to Texas. Would Craig's servers just explode?

I was the Texas State Collegiate fencing champion from Texas many years ago, and yes, I'm sure that's the difference. Brings everyones' average up.

One of the reasons, reportedly, that our program gets to stay around and occasionally get a little boost is b/c we keep the athletics GPA higher than it would be.
